Musical Theatre West generally holds auditions for its productions six to eight weeks before a show’s opening date. All roles are open to both Equity and non-Equity performers, and all ethnicities are always encouraged to audition.

Musical Theatre West operates under a LOA/WCLO agreement with Actors’ Equity Association.

There is pay for non-Equity performers, and they are eligible to receive points in the EMC program for MTW shows.

Rehearsals GENERALLY start four weeks before opening for non-Equity and three weeks before for Equity.

Rehearsals are GENERALLY:

Monday-Thursday

3-11 PM (Equity)

7-11 PM (non-Equity)

Saturday 10 AM-6 PM

Sunday 1-9 PM

All performers may be required to be at afternoon rehearsals during tech week.

Unless stated otherwise, auditions and rehearsals are held at the MTW rehearsal hall, 4350 E. 7th Street, Long Beach, CA 90804.
