We are pleased to bring you some of the forgotten gems and lesser-known newer works for the musical stage in staged reading format. Presenting the entire script and score, but with minimal staging and costumes, it’s a perfect way to experience the incredible vastness of this American art form! We had a tremendous response to our inaugural season, and are pleased to bring the series back for 2011-2012!

Musical Theatre West is extremely grateful to the generosity of Ken & Dottie Reiner, without whom this series would not be possible. Also, many thanks to our series underwriters, the Ackerman Family/Evalyn M. Bauer Foundation.

The composer of “Guys and Dolls” spent four years creating his masterwork. Vineyard owner Tony Esposito falls in love at first sight with a waitress in a San Francisco restaurant. This glorious score ranges from the soaringly operatic (“My Heart is So Full of You”) to the best of Broadway’s Golden Age (“Standing on the Corner” and “Joey, Joey, Joey”).
