WE ROLL ALONG's structure is controversial: it
moves backwards to chronicle the bittersweet lives
and loves of Mary, Frank and Charley, three life-long
friends who make their way in show business. The show's
score is not: it is one of the finest of all the 1980's
musicals, with a thrilling collection of songs, including
"Old Friends", "Not a Day Goes By", "Our Time" and
"Good Thing Going". We are proud to start off our
season, and mark MTG's 50th production, with Stephen
Sondheim at his most straightforward, brilliant Broadway
best!
This
staged reading is the full show with orchestra, minimal
sets and costumes and the actors frequently carry
their scripts.
